Trauma Counseling
Hi, I'm Kelly. I'm a trauma-informed, certified EMDR therapist that helps people feel the way they would like to feel. I specialize in anxiety and trauma-related issues, including issues pertaining to childhood trauma, deployment, sexual abuse, CPTSD and PTSD. I also help with issues related to sleep and phobias such as, fear of driving or flying, phobias related to foods, among other phobias. I'm here to walk alongside you in your journey to the you that wears less pain and help you get back to doing things that you once enjoyed.
I currently see adults and have daytime availability for appointments. I offer a direct approach in a warm, empathetic space without judgment where you can feel heard, validated and challenged as needed.
I offer a client centered approach to suit your individual needs utilizing evidence-based therapies to better help you. These approaches include EMDR, Ego State Therapy, Brainspotting, Exposure therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia.

How does therapy work? Who does "the work"?
Therapy is a collaborative process in which the therapist and client both put in effort to help the client meet their goals.
Who is your ideal client?
I work best with clients that are ready for change as I offer a solution focused approach. I work with clients from all walks of life and support the BLM movement and am an LGBTQ ally. My focus is trauma-informed care. I want you and I to work together to help you.
When will I start feeling better? How soon do we process my trauma?
There is no "quick fix". However, the question I may ask to this is, how long have you felt this way? If it's been some time, you can imagine it's going to take some time for you to feel how you would like. However, the goal is little by little you feel better and better until you get there.
There is not an exact time frame, as everyone is different, and each treatment is geared to you. However, I will not flood you or have you jump into trauma processing 3 sessions in, for example. I want people to feel better and too fast of an approach has the opposite effect. I help ensure feelings of security in the therapy room first. With that, trauma can be processed in a safe enough place so you can heal and that is what I want for you.

In consultation, I provide assistance with assessing dissociation and treatment for clients with dissociation. I can assist with nervous system regulation and explore the implementation of techniques from Polyvagal Theory and Ego States.
